Good Compression/Bad Compression - What does this mean? Why does it matter?
Good compression is when all head gaskets, piston rings, cylinder walls and valves are operating at 90-100% of their intended capacity. Bad compression results when one or more of the objects mentioned are worn out. Bad compression means weak engine performance which causes consumption of more gasoline to produce the horsepower to move the vehicle.

Will the vehicle be tested for emissions?
Yes. Starting September 2005 a new law goes in effect. All vehicles between 2 and 24 years old that are registered in Travis or Williamson County will have to pass an annual emissions
test as part of the annual state required safety inspection.
We will be using the same computer disgnostics equipment
to test the vehicle that will be used during the annual state testing. For detailed information view the Texas Department of Public Saftey publication.
